Meet Ellynne

Meet your coach Ellynne

Hi I’m Ellynne, your life coach and partner in creating your dream life! BTW It’s pronounced Ellen. My mom was just really excited about having a girl, so she gave me a few extra letters.

I’m a master certified life coach, hospice RN, and former non-profit advocate and leader, community organizer, and Congressional committee staffer.

I believe that radical joy, a deep sense of purpose, and a balanced life are possible for each and every one of us.

But it doesn't just happen. You have to decide that you want it and that you're willing to work for it.

I didn’t always feel this way. I let life 'happen to me'. I struggled with depression on and off starting as a teenager. I went years with undiagnosed endometriosis and ovarian cysts, which led to missed days at work and frequent trips to the ER. At work, while I was helping communities to enact positive changes - ensuring clean water and air, making college more affordable, and protecting our public lands from pollution and dirty development – I had nothing left in the tank for my self-care and wasn’t leading a balanced life.

I worked long hours at intense, and sometimes very stressful, positions and then ‘relaxed’ by getting drinks and staying out late. Honestly, I had little to no idea how to take care of myself physically, emotionally, or spiritually.

In my early 30s I knew that I needed a change and while I had a promising career and job that I loved in Washington, D.C., I wanted to move back out West for a more outdoors focused lifestyle. For me being outside in nature is the place that I most feel like myself.

So, I gave away or sold all of my belongings except for a bicycle and large duffel bag filled with clothes, books and pictures. I bought a one-way plane ticket to Colorado. I had no job prospects, but I did have a place to crash on my way to re-booting my life.

This was the start of my goal of building towards better health, happiness, and work life balance. I began meditating, improved my diet, and started exercising regularly. I didn’t go on any fancy retreats, instead I focused on small habit changes that I could incorporate every day. I also started being more intentional about my life and life choices. I learned about creating new neural pathways, or thinking patterns, moving my body to change how I feel, eating the foods and herbs that fuel me for success, along with self-care practices for my body, mind, and soul. I became more adept at managing my stress, making choices that better aligned with my desires, purpose, and strengths vs. what other people thought that I should be doing.

My overall health and sleep improved. I felt more joyous and purposeful in life, and my relationships deepened. I learned how to foster and maintain work-life balance and felt more at ease with myself. I definitely didn’t figure it out all at once and I still work on my health and well-being every single day!

My mission is to help empower you to navigate life challenges, experience radical joy, and achieve your goals while finding balance in your everyday life.  Since I come from a background of social change, community organizing and politics I feel a deep kinship to the women who I work with. We all have a vision of how the world can be a better place - and unfortunately, most of us have had the experience of sacrificing our well-being for our work.

I find so much joy in helping clients find their 'a-ha' moments and realizing that they're so much more resilient, creative, and capable than they previously thought!

Sometimes we all need a bit of help with prioritizing ourselves, setting goals, and being accountable to get our results!

I specialize in coaching women in their 40s and 50s who are working to make the world more equitable, just, compassionate and sustainable. My clients are healers, caregivers, advocates, change agents, nurses, organizers - anyone working to empower their clients and communities to overcome challenges, access resources, and improve well-being through individual and systemic change.

When I'm not coaching you can find me on a trail, in my garden, drawing or painting, lifting weights, climbing, cooking, meditating, with friends and furballs. I also work as a hospice nurse.
